About the exchange
Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE), the first futures market in China, was established on October 12th, 1990. ZCE started futures trading on May 28th, 1993 with 5 commodities listed. It is one of the three futures exchanges which are approved by the State Council to remain in operation. The trading system we have been using is the electronic trading system. However, orders have to be input through the trading terminals located on the trading floor to be matched by the server. The trading is cleared by the clearing department of the exchange. Four futures commodities (wheat, mung bean, peanut kernel and small red bean) have been approved by the State Council to be listed by ZCE, but only wheat and mung bean are being traded.Up to now, we only have trading members and we do not have clearing members. Trading members divide into two categories: futures brokerage firms and non- futures brokerage firms.
