About the exchange
As a result of the merger with the Osaka Mercantile Exchange (OME) on January 1, 2007, C-Com now lists a total of 10 products which include two kinds of Rubber contracts (TSR20 and RSS3), Rubber Index, Aluminum and Nickel futures that are traded on the new C-Com/OME market in Osaka. The Exchange feels privileged to be able to maintain its trading facility in Osaka where the world¡Çs fist futures contact was traded back in the 18th century. The existing Petroleum, Eggs and Ferrous Scrap futures contracts continue to be traded on the C-Com markets in Nagoya. The Exchange thrives to assist a wider range of industries by providing tools they need to hedge against the risks of price fluctuations and supply and demand.
C-Com is the only commodity exchange in Japan that is licensed both by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) who ministers industrial commodities and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) who ministers agricultural commodities. This unique situation enables the Exchange to offer a mixed range of products from industrial materials to agricultural commodities.
