Founded in 1904, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the largest global professional accountancy body, with almost 300 000 members and students in more than 160 countries. Headquartered in London, ACCA has staffed offices in 31 countries, with a world-wide network of over 600 training institutions.
The high standard of ACCA's Part Three exams is acknowledged as equal to the highest in the world. The ACCA professional qualification has been registered at level 7 on the South African National Qualifications Framework. In 1998, the United Nations adopted a world benchmark for accountancy qualifications, of which ACCA's syllabus forms the core.
