The FIA is a Recognised Representative Body in terms of the FAIS Act. The Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act administers all activities regarding financial services and advice across all product ranges. The FIA represents the spot forex investment industry. Self-Regulation The Forex Investment Association (FIA) is a self-regulatory, non-profit organisation established by the leading role players in the mushrooming currency trading or spot forex investment industry in South Africa.
The FIA cooperates with the Financial Services Board and the South African Reserve Bank and the Department of Trade and Industry in order to create a positive, investor orientated investment environment in spot forex - a largely unregulated industry, globally.
The FIA actively promotes high standards of business practices and transparency amongst its members and members are accountable to comply with the highest standards of conduct enforced by the FIA Charter and the Forex Code of Conduct.
