The Institute of Health Risk Managers (IHRM) has been established in response to the need for easily accessible information on issues underpinning changes in the healthcare industry and to service the knowledge and networking requirements of employers and health risk managers.
The IHRM is a membership-based organisation set up to support all those working within the healthcare financing and delivery sectors, including employers. In fact, anyone involved in the practice of health risk assessment and health risk management.
The constant increase in the demand for healthcare in the face of limited resources has encouraged the adoption of health risk management practices across the globe. This together with an ever-increasing number of regulations governing the sector has led to the need for a good understanding of industry dynamics and the practice of health risk management. New business models that include risk transfer and risk management programmes are the order of the day.
To this end, the Institute offers members an interactive website, a one-stop shop enabling knowledge and understanding, including understanding and compliance to relevant legislation, and fostering broader networking opportunities amongst our constituents. The website is supported by a monthly newsletter and breakfast seminars. Accredited short certificate courses are offered, together with customised training according to the needs of corporate customers. IHRM is accredited by INSETA as a training provider.
